Atlas Headrest Warranty & Atlas Shield Terms

1. Atlas Headrest Limited Warranty (3 Years)

Atlas Headrest is committed to your satisfaction with our products. Every Atlas Headrest includes a 3-year limited manufacturer's warranty covering manufacturing defects, hardware failures, and structural issues under normal, intended use. Your warranty begins on the date of purchase.

If a defect arises during the warranty period, Atlas will evaluate the issue and, if approved, provide repair, replacement components, or full product replacement as appropriate.

2. How to File a Claim

Submit your claim via the Atlas claims portal or contact orders@atlasheadrest.com with your order number and a video clearly showing the issue.

3. Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:
• Cosmetic damage such as scratches or scuffs
• Normal wear and aging (foam softening, fabric pilling, color changes)
• Damage from misuse, improper handling, or external force
• Staining, dye transfer, or chemical exposure
• Environmental damage or improper storage

4. Atlas Shield Extended Warranty

Atlas Shield is an optional protection program available for purchase. Atlas Shield extends your warranty coverage by 9 additional years (for a total of 12 years when combined with the included 3-year base warranty). Coverage begins on the date of purchase. Atlas Shield is a one-time purchase with no subscription. It can be added any time before your 3-year warranty expires.

5. What Atlas Shield Covers

a. Manufacturing Defects
Defects in materials or workmanship that were present at the time of manufacture and become apparent during the coverage period, including:
• Frame or structural defects that cause instability or failure
• Foam defects: premature collapse or degradation inconsistent with normal aging

b. Hardware Failures
Mechanical failures of adjustment and mounting hardware, including:
• Adjustment mechanism failure (locking tabs, tilt hardware, height adjustment)
• Mounting hardware failure (screws, brackets, mounting plate)
• Attachment arm failure

c. Structural Failures
Structural failures of the headrest frame, attachment arm, or mounting system under normal daily use conditions.

d. Component Replacements
Where a covered defect affects a discrete, replaceable component, Atlas will ship the replacement component rather than a full headrest. Full headrest replacement is provided when component-level repair is insufficient.

Coverage Duration:

Atlas Shield: 9-year coverage extension in addition to the 3-year base warranty, for a total of 12 years of coverage, matching the warranty of your chair.

6. What Atlas Shield Does NOT Cover

Cosmetic damage: Scratches, scuffs, minor surface marks, color variation from sun exposure, and other aesthetic changes resulting from normal use.

Accidental damage: Drops, impacts, crush damage, or other physical damage caused by external force rather than a product defect.

Intentional damage or misuse: Damage resulting from use inconsistent with product instructions.

Unauthorized modifications: Alterations made by parties other than Atlas or authorized service providers.

Loss or theft: Atlas Shield does not cover lost or stolen headrests.

Normal cushion wear: Gradual softening of foam density, fabric pilling, or color change from extended use are natural aging characteristics and do not constitute defects.

Consequential damage: Atlas is not liable for incidental or consequential damages (including injury or property damage) arising from a product defect.

Damage from incompatible chair models: Atlas headrests are designed for specific chair models. Damage resulting from use on incompatible chairs is not covered.

7. Claims Process

Warranty claims (for defects, hardware failures, and structural issues) are filed through the Atlas claims portal or by emailing orders@atlasheadrest.com with your order number and a video clearly showing the issue.
Atlas responds within 2 business days.

Approved claims may result in:
• Replacement components shipped at no charge (3–5 business days)
• Full headrest replacement shipped at no charge  (5–7 business days after approval)
Shipping for approved claims is provided at no cost within the continental United States. Additional shipping fees apply for Alaska, Hawaii, and any United States territories. International shipping fees apply for claims outside the U.S. You are not required to return your defective headrest unless specifically requested by Atlas for quality analysis (fewer than 10% of claims).

8. Eligibility & Purchase Window

New Purchases: Atlas Shield must be purchased at the time of your headrest order or within the original 3-year warranty period. After 3 years, enrollment is no longer available for that order.

One Plan Per Product: Atlas Shield may only be active per one individual headrest at any time.

Product Condition: Coverage applies to headrests that are in undamaged, working condition at the time of plan purchase. Pre-existing defects known to the customer at the time of purchase are not covered.

9. Plan Duration

Original Warranty:

Coverage begins on the date of purchase and gives 3 years of coverage.

Atlas Shield:

Coverage begins on the date of purchase. Combined with the included 3-year base manufacturer's warranty, the 9 year extension provides a total of 12 years of protection; aligned with Herman Miller's own 12-year chair warranty benchmark. Atlas Shield is a one-time purchase with no renewal required.

10. International Customers

Atlas Shield ships to most international addresses. For warranty claims for international customers:

  • International shipping fees for claim resolutions are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise stated.

  • You must approve these costs before Atlas ships your replacement parts or headrest. If you do not respond to approve or decline the charges, your shipment is held.

11. Transferability

Atlas Shield coverage is personal to the original purchaser and is not transferable to a subsequent owner of the headrest. If you sell, gift, or otherwise transfer your headrest, coverage does not transfer with the product.

12. Relationship to Standard Warranty

Every Atlas headrest includes a standard 3-year manufacturer's warranty on manufacturing defects at no additional cost. Atlas Shield extends this base coverage.

  • During the first 3 years, both the standard warranty and Atlas Shield apply simultaneously.

  • After 3 years, Atlas Shield is the sole active warranty mechanism.

  • The standard 3-year warranty is provided to all Atlas customers regardless of whether Shield is purchased.

13. Claims Limits

Warranty claims: Atlas reserves the right to limit total claim resolutions to a maximum of 1 full headrest replacement per plan, across the life of your coverage. Component-only claims (screws, brackets, mounting hardware, adjustment mechanisms) are unlimited.
